Throughout The Years [[First Grade]]

This was sort of the forgotten year. I really do not remember much other than I was now 6 years old and still living in Victorville, California. =) There were just a few little details I remember. For example, I suppose there was some type of solar eclipse or something that happened where we were at school and everyone was telling us not to look at the sun. It was only on this day and no matter how many times they told us not to the curious 6 year old in me couldn't resist. I just didn't understand what the fuss was all about.

During this time we were gearing up for our big move up the mountain to Big Bear, California. On my very last day of school in Victorville, my mom picked me up early from class where my  teacher announced to the whole class, "Everyone say goodbye to Deanna F. She is moving" and shy little me was to scared to tell her that my name was Deanna G.
My fondest memories of Big Bear during the first grade was the time I spent with my father. Fishing, sledding, learning to ride a bike, etc.

One thing in particular that I remember was when my dad worked late one night he came home after I was asleep and slipped some of my favorite candy under my pillow, Junior Mints. Ill never forget that.

During this time, I got my first real haircut. Yes, I cut my very long beautiful locks, short. Above my shoulders and when I got home my dad was so upset. Or he pretended to be.

First grade was when I lost a friend of mine in a fire, who lived on the other street over. They said they were using candles that set the house on fire. This was my very first memory of death.

My favorite show was Barney. I was completely obsessed. My favorite song was Fishing In The Dark by Nitty Gritty Band.  Another favorite that I enjoyed and my mom would even wake me up in a dead sleep to listen to when it came on the radio was Achy Breaky Heart.

My best friend was my little chihuahua, Peanut.

=) well that's a little about my First Grade Year. Second Grade is not to be missed. Trust me. Its changed my whole life. Stay Tuned. Haha.

Until Then... Here is a blast from the Past. Enjoy =)
