All about Nature

It was another successful day in the schoolhouse. I am really starting to think about what we could name our little schoolhouse. Meanwhile our summer has been jampacked. Movies, bowling, traveling, swimming has taken our lives that it has become difficult to plan lessons and stick to them. That is why Mother Goose Time is so great. It is very little planning for this busy mom. The lessons are easy to read and follow. The supplies are easily listed for you and the questions are already ready for you. I really like that they take the time to suggest other resources and stem activities as well. My most favorite part is the read aloud suggestions. It takes the guess work out of everything.

If you are new around here, Mother Goose Time is a Preschool curriculum that we use to help homeschool my preschooler. It is a monthly subscription box that provides lessons and activities in monthly themes for infant-5 years of age. Every month we receive the curriculum from Mother Goose Time, for free, in school bus box full of daily lessons, music, crafts, counters, story books and more in exchange of blog posts about our experiences.

We are enjoying this months theme already in week 1. It is almost 115  outside so nature walks are few and far between but we have found ways to explore indoors. Below are a few pictures of day 1. Hunter had a ton of fun with the magnifying glass by going on a hunt for items we see in nature. He just learned all of his colors so it was fun to see him identifying the different colors of the rainbow and crayons in the picture. I think Hunter's favorite part of the lesson is the music. Each month a themed CD comes full of fun songs to accompanying the lessons. Hunter absolutely loves to sing and dance to it. If we don't start out day with the music, he just begs and begs until we do. It has been a great week in the schoolhouse for sure!
