It is finally Fall!

We are loving the cooler weather around here. It’s finally in the 70s and it’s amazing! It’s well over due. This week we had so much fun learning about the life cycle of a tree. We focused on the letter E and discovered the roots, branches and leaves of a tree.

Our typical day is is started my circle time and calender. We start our activities and work through our day. Usually the lessons take about two to three hours depending. The lessons have suggested book titles to supplement which I love!!

I try to have a themed snack and these week we had apples and celery. If your not familiar with Mother Goose Time. It is a comprehensive preschool curriculum that comes with everything that you need for a successful themed day. Mother Goose Time sends me curriculum to write blog posts for them. But, it doesn’t matter, I will always stand by this company. I absolutely love it! And my kids can’t wait to get started every single day!

It is too hot in Arizona...

We are still reaching 100 degree weather here in Arizona which makes it so difficult to get outside for PE time. We are finding ways to either get out early in the morning or not at all. Let me tell you.. I am just waiting for it to get cooler out. Hey, a side note, a hurricane is headed straight for us and we are expecting three days of rain! So excited! But even more reason why we can’t head outdoors to get PE in. I have found the perfect addition to our homeschool and My kids love it! It is dance beats by Mother Goose Time. Each month is a different theme with all new songs and lessons! Each class is about 30-40 minutes and some of them have art projects to go with them. My kids are in love! The songs are fun and upbeat. The lesson plan book has the dance moves and the song words to go along with them. It has really gotten my kiddos active. It’s a winner in our books!

There is light ...

As our days become shorter and the new season is  upon us I feel like some days I have it together and others I am still drowning. We are still trying to find a true balance around here. But I know one thing is for sure. There isn’t a day that my kiddos don’t ask for “activity time”. That’s when we pull out our Mother Goose Time materials and learning apps. Here is a couple pictures for this week.

We were little behind on our curriculum so we were catching up on a few lessons. The kids love art and anything that is hands on. We do a lot of reading throughout the day as well. I have learned that a well planned day, the better. I have yet determined a specific scedhule that works best for us but I feel like that a lot of prays to God for guidence, it will happen naturally.

Sunday Night Planning

My sanity during the week truly depends on whether or not I sat down and planned my week out. Planning on a Sunday night is my moment of hope that my week will go of without a hitch. I like to lay everything out to see it all in one space. I gather all of the materials and set them in separate boxes for each day. I prepare the calendar numbers and write down all of the circle time songs, lay out weather pieces and discussion pieces.

Just another day...

We have been busy here during the week. Lots of learning is happening. I have officially brought home all of my kiddos. Some days are better than others but we take it one day at a time. Most days I have to remind myself why I am doing what I am doing and find grace in that. The days are long but I look up to God and thank him many times over because homeschooling them is a true blessing.

The past couple of weeks have been very busy.  Every morning I prep our Mother Goose Time materials. I like to put some of things I can use again in a clear protector and let the kids use a whiteboard marker to write. Edit

Mother Goose Time provides the opportunities for my children that are engaging and comprehensive. My kids enjoy the activities and can’t wait for MGT time!

How I set up our school.

Every Sunday night I sit down and I plan our Week of learning. I thought I’d share what our circle time area looks like.

I found the whiteboard at hobby lobby for $40! It was a steal! I put tiny magnets behind the items that will last throughout the year. It has been so convienant when using the circle time items from Mother Goose Time. We meet every morning around the board and do all of the activities. The kids love it.

On the shelf below it is where al keep all of the circle time supplies to be easily accessible. I also make sure a radio is nearby to play the music that the curriculum comes with.

If you are new around here. Mother Goose Time is a comprehensive preschool curriculum. It comes in the yellow bus box full of supplies for you to jump right in. MGT provides the curriculum to me for the exchange of a blog post. But without it, I’m still a big fan. My kids loves when it’s time to do activities. Especially Hunter.
